Diamonds: time for clarity
04/02/2023
By Eric Hemeleers, CEO of Eeckman Art & Insurance, in dialogue with Cédric van den Abeele, Partner & Key Account Manager at Anglo Belge and Ellen Joncheere, CEO of HRD Antwerp (Diamond High Council of Antwerp)
Since the beginning of time, diamonds have been perceived as the most valuable commodity. Their beauty and rarity ensure that they are desired worldwide. To protect consumers, rules of the game have been implemented to provide clarity regarding their purchase. Not only in terms of the value of the product but also in terms of transparency concerning its origin. The phenomenon of lab-grown diamonds is still in its infancy, so there is still a need for the industry to provide guidelines for transparency. In this talk, Eric Hemeleers, together with Ellen Joncheere and Cédric van den Abeele, will identify all the risks and facets of the diamond business.
