TEMPLON - Solo show de François Rouan

For the next edition of BRAFA, Templon is devoting a solo exhibition to François Rouan (stand #27). A key figure on the French contemporary art scene, Rouan has been associated with the Supports/Surfaces movement from the outset, without ever being affiliated to it. He then developed a singular trajectory. Gradually, he added to his painting with in-depth research into collages, culminating in his first braided works in 1965. In the 1980s, he extended this practice by exploring new mediums, photographic and filmic. Rouan has helped to deconstruct the traditional structure of the painting.
