Galerie AB presents 'Dessins de 1880 à nos jours'

19/03/2025
Paris, Dessins de 1880 à nos jours, 19 March - 19 April
During the 'MOIS DU DESSIN' in Paris, Agnès Aittouares opens her new venue in the heart of Saint-Germain-les-Prés for an exhibition of drawings by great artists from the 19th century to the present day. To look at a drawing is to penetrate to the heart of the artist's intimacy. Drawings are the very architecture of the artist's creative work, and were originally usually kept in the artist's studio. From the beginning of the 20th century, modern art, with its emphasis on materials and techniques, turned them into an art form in their own right. In this chronological tour, the visitor will discover the sensibility of these artists who, through drawing, reveal a creative gesture, touching on the major currents of modern art, such as Paul Signac's Impressionism, the intimism of Pierre Bonnard and Édouard Vuillard, the cubism of Georges Valmier and Leopold Survage, the surrealism of Joan Miro, the lyrical abstraction of Hans Hartung, the abstract expressionism of Sam Francis, the anamorphism of Sam Szafran and many others...
