ABOUT

Guy Pieters was born in the artistic village of Sint-Martens-Latem, the cradle of Flemish expressionism. After making the acquaintance of the French-American artist Arman in 1979, he shifted his focus towards post-war and contemporary art, and opened his first gallery in 1981. Over the next 40 years, he set up several art galleries with his wife Linda by his side. Pieters’ success can be attributed to his lifelong collaborations with artists. Showcasing the masters of New Realism and Pop Art alongside emerging talents, Guy Pieters Gallery has gained a reputation far beyond its native Belgium. In his seaside galleries in Knokke, he presents established works of art and organises magnificent solo exhibitions of renowned artists such as Karel Appel, Arman, César, Christo & Jeanne-Claude, Niki de Saint Phalle, Jim Dine, Jan Fabre, Jean-Michel Folon, Robert Indiana, les Lalanne, Kris Martin, Pavlos, James Rosenquist, Mimmo Rotella, Julian Schnabel, Keith Sonnier, Jean Tinguely, Koen Vanmechelen, Bernar Venet, Jacques Villeglé, Tom Wesselmann and many others. Over the years, Guy Pieters has edited a number of books, including the catalogue raisonné of Yves Klein. In 2018 Linda & Guy Pieters opened their Foundation in Saint-Tropez, which has become one of the most prestigious art institutions on the Côte d’Azur. In the summer of 2025, Guy Pieters will be opening a new multifunctional space in Knokke. This state-of-the-art complex will welcome top-level speakers from all fields and multi-brand events. An innovative approach to enable new audiences to connect with the art world.
