Tribute to Joana Vasconcelos, the guest of honor at BRAFA 2025
In tribute to Joana Vasconcelos, the guest of honor at BRAFA 2025, we are proud to present her creation: the Extravaganza (Black) necklace. Joana Vasconcelos reinterprets one of the most common elements in jewelry, the sphere—traditionally seen as the pearl—through this design, crafting one of the most sophisticated contemporary pieces with a neo-baroque flair. Made from sterling silver with 285 hollow and solid spheres in seven different sizes (ranging from 3mm to 52mm in diameter), this stunning necklace is part of a limited edition collection of 10 unique pieces. Each features a distinct color, with carmine red, white, and black as the first in the series. The necklace is finished with a thick rubber cord that complements the color of the spheres, adding both comfort and reinforcing its unique wearable-sculpture identity. ABOUT
Collectors Gallery was founded in 2005 in Brussels’ Sablon neighbourhood by Betty De Stefano. Housed in a distinctively high, Brussels-style, 19th century corner townhouse, the gallery exclusively specialises in 20th and 21st century jewellery and objects by artists and designers: wearable artworks by creators such as Pol Bury, Sophia Vari, Louise Nevelson, Georges Braque, Giorgio Facchini, Georg Jensen, Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, Line Vautrin, Ettore Sottsass, Gabriella Sismann, Créations Monhof, Irakli Nasidzé etc… The gallery also houses a major collection of sculptural jewels by Belgian goldsmith Fernand Demaret. For BRAFA 2024, creations by the talented Belgian goldsmith Claude Wesel, a graduate of the prestigious École des Métiers d'Arts de Maredsous, and a selection of sculptural jewellery by the Greek artist Sophia Vari will complete this modern ensemble.
