HELENE BAILLY presents Poliakoff et la génération parisienne

If the innovations that Serge Poliakoff brought to modern painting are numerous – a rigorous approach to composition in abstraction, an inseparability of forms, a melodious harmony in painting – the impact he left on his contemporaries is even deeper.
The Hélène Bailly Gallery is proud to exhibit major works by Poliakoff – including the one used as the poster image for the retrospective dedicated to the artist at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris in 2013-2014 – true testimonies to his colorist genius and unique approach to abstract form. This exhibition highlights the richness of a generation that, in the artistic effervescence of postwar Paris, redefined the codes of modern art and permanently shaped the language of abstraction.

ABOUT
De galerie werd in 2007 opgericht door Hélène Bailly Marcilhac en is sinds 2015 gevestigd op 71, Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Parijs. De galerie HELENE BAILLY stelt vier of vijf keer per jaar thematentoonstellingen samen, opgevat als een dialoog tussen kunstenaars, werken en technieken. Elk van deze tentoonstellingen is het onderwerp van een catalogus die het onderzoek en de aantekeningen van onze specialisten bundelt. De galerie draagt ook bij aan de verrijking van museumcollecties door verkoop of uitlening aan instellingen zoals het Musée d'Orsay, de Fondation de l'Hermitage, de National Gallery of Victoria, Singer Laren en het Palazzo Reale. Galerie HELENE BAILLY heeft onlangs de Catalogues Raisonnés van Léon Pourtau en Henri Delavallée gepubliceerd en bijgedragen aan het laatste deel van die van Francis Picabia.
