BRAFA 2025: Patrick Derom Gallery presents Spilliaert's 'La Verrière'
BRAFA is delighted to welcome back the Brussels based Patrick Derom Gallery in 2025, now helmed by Patrick Derom and his son Edouard. Spanning works from 1880 to the present day, the gallery presents an extraordinary array of modern movements from Symbolism to Pop Art, with occasional ventures into contemporary art.
Among their highlights for BRAFA’s 70th edition is a true masterpiece by Léon Spilliaert (Ostend, 1881 – Brussels, 1946). La verrière offers a splendid glimpse into the artist’s world, portraying an annex of his home through a mesmerising interplay of perspectives and reflections.

ABOUT
De galerie, opgericht in 1986 door Patrick Derom, bestrijkt een uitgebreide periode van ca. 1880 tot nu en toont werken die de moderne stromingen vertegenwoordigen gaande van Symbolisme tot Pop Art met occasionele zijstappen in hedendaagse kunst. Als verzamelaar in hart en nieren selecteert Patrick Derom zijn aanwinsten op basis van twee criteria: kwaliteit en zijn persoonlijk enthousiasme voor de kunstenaar of het werk. In 2023 vervoegde Patrick's zoon, Edouard Derom, de galerie en co-curateerde een tentoonstelling van Léon Spilliaert. Edouard behaalde een Ph.D. aan het Institute of Fine Arts (NYU), waar zijn onderzoek gericht was op de ZERO-groep. Hij bekleedde ook diverse functies bij vooraanstaande musea in de Verenigde Staten, Frankrijk en China.
